Dear Church Family,
As I survey our community, I see countless people in need of Jesus’ love and healing touch. You may ponder, as I do, how you can reach out and make a difference in so many lives. It’s a difficult challenge to take on as an individual, but am convinced that as American Baptists working together, we can make a difference by supporting the America for Christ Offering 2010.
This year’s theme – “With Willing Hands: Connect, Care, Celebrate” – is a powerful reminder that Jesus’ public ministry was all about connecting and caring for people in need. Through the work of National Ministries, which is supported by the America for Christ Offering, we can participate with our Lord in connecting, caring, and celebrating the power of the Gospel:
· as people come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ;
· as children in poverty are reached through the Penny Project;
· as youth, children, and adults grow in discipleship;
· as communities are changed through Christian centers;
· as we increase church vitality through the Church in Mission trainings; and
· as we help to support and relocate refugees into churches and communities.
Please join me in giving generously to the America for Christ Offering 2010 and help us to reach our goal of $500. Together we can touch and change lives for the cause of Christ. Together we can make a difference “For the love of Christ urges us on…” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15).
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Janet

Our AWANA Workshops began January 11th for our February 13th Race Day! This is one of the highlights of our AWANA Club. Special thanks to our volunteers that continue to make this outreach ministry possible.
We conclude our second six-week Good News Club February 10th, and will begin again on February 24th. Some of our parishioners are hearing stories of friends’ grandchildren being in our Club. Pastor was leaving Subway in January and a Grandmother said, “Are you Pastor Janet from First Baptist?” Pastor smiled and said, “Yes.” She said, “My little granddaughter is in your After-School Club and simply loves it! She has so much fun! Please know all your hard work is worth it.” Boy, was my heart encouraged!
Thank you, volunteers, as we together sprinkle love on this ministry as we fish for Jesus!
Pastor continues teaching Sunday School in the Parlor Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15. Come and join as we are finishing up our Advent Study. Beginning February 7th Dick Krantz begins a Men’s Bible Study during our regular Sunday School time. Please join one of these studies and GROW in fellowship, in knowledge of God’s Word, His love and His Grace. More details will follow.
A Lenten Bible Study begins February 21st.
